Our
Vision Statement
To be
the local contact for meeting the needs of the public pertaining to the
conservation of soil, water, and related resources by providing the best service
we can in partnership with communities, agencies, organizations, and
individuals.
Our
Mission Statement
The
Wyoming County Conservation District strives to maintain, improve, and sustain
the natural resources of Wyoming County while promoting conservation based on
education, planning, cooperation, and involvement of all citizens of the County.
Our Goals
Our goals are to assist with:
-
implementing farm conservation practices that keep soil in the fields and
out of waterways
-
conserving and restoring wetlands, which enhance the quality of the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's watersheds
-
providing technical assistance for erosion and sedimentation pollution
concerns
-
delivering environmental education through the use of literature and a
variety of hands-on programs
-
encouraging municipalities to implement environmentally-sensitive road
maintenance practices on dirt and gravel roads through training and grants
